Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1)Daughter of Smoke & Bone
by
Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands", she speaks many languages - not all of them human - and her bright blue hairactually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Wow. What an incredible story of journey of love through years and memories that brought two people who weren't meant to be together...

description

Karou lead two different lives of what was considered "normal", art student in Prague with hidden past, and "paranormal", running errands for monsters who run dark shop that runs on collecting teeth. But this is her life and those "monsters" are her only family that she had ever known.

“Wishes are false. Hope is true. Hope makes its own magic.”

When she meets Akiva, an angel who is trying to destroy the only family she has, Karou is determined to make suffer for trying to kill her too. But sudden revelation of what she actually is might stop her from hurting him altogether and realize the forbidden love that she has for him.

“Your soul sings to mine. My soul is yours, and it always will be, in any world. No matter what happens. I need you to remember that I love you.”

Daughter of Smoke & Bone is beautiful, magical, heartbreaking... It is everything that you want a story to be and more. Karou is so independent, strong lead character that it is impossible not to love her. She is daring and loves adventure and her love for Akiva is so perfect.

I'm diving into the second book right away and cannot wait to find out what happens because one simply doe snot end a book like that!! you are messing with my emotions
