[Book Review] The Forgotten Ones by Laura Howard

The Forgotten Ones (The Danaan Trilogy, #1)
The Forgotten Ones
Laura Howard
Allison O'Malley's plan is to go to grad school so she can get a good job and take care of her schizophrenic mother. She has carefully closed herself off from everything else, including a relationship with Ethan, who she's been in love with for as long as she can remember.

What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his stories about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.

Allison is a 21 year old girl who is taking care for her schizophrenic mother along with her grandparents. One day she opens the door and her father who she have never seen is on the front steps and wants to help her mom. She has to put aside her feelings for Ethan if she wants to save her mother and figure out who she really is.

I thought this was a good read but didn't fully captured my attention. Even though I enjoyed it, it was hard putting together a review because I felt like this book was more like the start of a book for me than a whole story. I am looking forward for the second book to give me more clarity and bring more excitement for the story. I did find characters very enjoyable and was interested to see what happens next. 3.5 Stars!!!
